My crew laughs, but I swear by short mental resets during complex wiring.

I used to work straight through like everyone else. But after I messed up a zone because I was tired, I changed my mind. Now I take five minutes to clear my head every couple hours. It feels weird at first, but my work is way more accurate. Trust me, a little break beats a redo any day.

What if those breaks are actually making you lose your flow? I've found that stopping in the middle of complex work just means I spend ten minutes figuring out where I was and getting my head back in the game. That rhythm you build up is the whole point, and breaking it can cause just as many mistakes. Sometimes you just have to push through and train your brain to focus for the long haul. A quick break might feel good, but it can make you miss the tiny details you were holding in your short-term memory.

Doesn't a fresh mind catch more details?

But what if that fresh mind @iris_green84 is talking about loses the thread of the complex stuff you were just holding?
