I left my 2018 Ski-Doo on those basic rubber pads all winter in my garage in Duluth and the rubber actually stained my track. Took me an hour with a pressure washer and degreaser to get it off. Anyone else have this happen or am I just unlucky?

Found a weird pile of oyster shells and broken pottery about 3 feet down behind my shed near Charlottesville last spring. I almost just filled the hole back in, but I called the local university archaeology lab instead. Turns out the charcoal layers and fire-cracked rocks meant people camped there maybe 800 years ago. The grad student who came out showed me how to screen the dirt through a 1/4 inch mesh to catch tiny beads and flakes. I was pulling a starter off a 1998 Civic at Pick-N-Pull in Phoenix last Saturday and this older guy walks up, looks at my car, and just starts chuckling. I was reading a report from LinkedIn's hiring blog last night and it said nearly three quarters of companies use some kind of automated screening tool. So on one hand, you want to pack your resume with keywords to get past the bot. But on the other hand, if you stuff it too full, it reads like garbage to a real person who finally gets it. Has anyone here ever gotten feedback that their resume got trashed by software when they thought it was fine?

Old timer at the Port of Portland taught me how to read the wind

Back in 2019 I was doing a container job at Terminal 6 in Portland. I was maybe 2 years in, still figuring things out. This older operator named Larry came over during a lunch break and just pointed at the sway on my load. He said "you're fighting the wind instead of using it." Then he showed me how to time my swings with the gusts, not against them. I still think about that 5 minute conversation every time the wind picks up. Anyone else have an old hand give them a tip that stuck?
