Serious question, has anyone else had a problem with the new flexible rods from that company in Denver?

Have to disagree on the brush launcher being single-use. Mine's been through a dozen jobs now, including some pretty tight soffit vents, and it's still clicking together fine. Their rods might not be for heavy abuse, but for residential fiber runs they've saved me hours of fishing time. The cost stings at first, but it pays off when you're not crawling through another hot attic.

Showerthought: I tried a new post hole digger and it almost cost me a whole day

Totally! I did the exact same thing with my new drill last year. Burned the motor out in a week because I got too excited, whoops.

Finally bought that $400 thermal camera for tracing door operator heat issues.

But what if you just waited for the thing to fail? A new motor controller is way cheaper than that camera. Sometimes the fancy gear just finds problems you could have fixed for less money later.

Can we talk about drone mapping for site surveys? I was a total doubter until last month.

Drones caught a hidden septic tank on our last site survey.

Pro tip: I finally stopped using my old Weller iron for everything

He told me to set the iron to 350 for USB-C ports. I thought that was way too low and solder wouldn't even melt. Turns out he uses leaded solder and it flows perfectly at that temp. My lead-free stuff needs way more heat and that's why I kept cooking the plastic. Switching to 63/37 solder changed everything for small connectors.
