inDove a harbor in Norfolk last week. Noticed something weird about the current patterns.
Oh man that's actually super interesting lol. Were you seeing like a weird rip current kind of thing or more like the water was just pulling harder in one direction than usual? I've heard those big container ships can basically create their own mini currents when they're maneuvering, especially if one just passed through. Did you notice if the timing lined up with any specific ship movements?

inShoutout to the crew that showed me a new way to handle a wet patch
Feels like overthinking paint to me. Just paint it.

inGot told my AI art was 'too perfect' and it bugged me
Wait, isn't art basically just a conversation between the artist and the viewer, though? By adding those little flaws you're literally telling the viewer "hey, this thing was touched by a human hand" which is exactly what your commenter was probably missing. You're not adding scratches to a new phone, you're painting brushstrokes onto a canvas that was just a digital print before. The whole point of using a tool like Midjourney is to make something you couldn't otherwise, and that includes making it feel lived in and personal. If you just type "beautiful castle" and hit go, you're letting the machine do all the creative work for you. But tweaking the prompt until it has that wonky roof tile or that single dead tree in the corner? That's you putting your own eye into the piece.

Ray said it right, scrap metal beats store bought junk every time.

inI finally found a trick for keeping my book club on track during the actual discussion
Wait you actually used a timer at a book club? Like an actual stopwatch or your phone? I feel like that would make everyone nervous and rush through their thoughts before they get cut off. Did people actually like it or were they just being polite?
