inWatched a guy at a Portland art walk try to sell AI art as 'traditional hand-drawn'
Wait, how do you even know it's AI if the fingers are all blurry? I mean I used to think people just overreacted to stuff they didn't understand, but that smooth plastic look and the bad hands are a dead giveaway. After seeing this story it's pretty clear some artists are trying to get away with it.

inOverheard a guy at a Bali coworking space say he books flights through a VPN
Right, because nothing says "great deal" like your bank thinking you're running a flight-booking operation from a random Indonesian coffee shop. Guess I'll just use my savings to bail myself out of the fraud department later.

inStarbucks wifi in Denver got me phished last month
Man, I set up a personal hotspot from my phone for banking. Cost me like $15 a month extra. That $340 you lost, that's two years of hotspot fees right there. Your bank app should use encryption anyway. I check my accounts on public wifi all the time in coffee shops. Never had an issue. You sure your phone wasn't already compromised? Like maybe you downloaded something sketchy. Public wifi itself isn't the boogeyman people make it out to be.

Have you checked if their key cutting machine is still from the 80s?

inStepped into a old hotel in Nashville and noticed the carpet seams were all wrong
Yeah I actually read somewhere that the Ryman had a huge renovation a few years back where they put in historically accurate carpet. Bet they spent so much time getting the pattern right they forgot to think about where the seams go.
