My AI art went from a blurry mess to something my mom thought was a photo

About three months ago, I was making these weird, smudgy pictures of cats that looked like they were melting. I kept using the same basic prompt over and over. Then I started adding specific artists for the AI to copy, like 'in the style of John Singer Sargent'. The difference from last week's try to yesterday's is crazy, the fur looks real now. Has anyone else had a big jump like that just from changing one word in the prompt?

I've been sticking to 75% hydration for years because a baker in Chicago told me it was the sweet spot, but after my 8-year-old said that last week, I'm wondering if I should drop it to 70% for a more open crumb that's easier to eat.

A chat with my local farmer totally flipped my view on dry aging beef

I was picking up a whole side from a farm near Springfield and got talking with the owner, Mark. He mentioned he only dry ages his grass-fed beef for 21 days, not the 45 I always pushed for. He said with his specific feed and breed, the flavor peaks earlier and longer just dries it out without adding more taste. I tried a piece from his 21-day ribeye and it was amazing, super tender and rich. I'm going to run a test next week with two identical cuts, one for 21 days and one for 45, to see the difference in my own shop. Has anyone else found that the 'standard' aging time doesn't work for every type of cattle?

Bought a $40 tile cutter for my kitchen backsplash and it was a total waste

I was totally wrong about using real food as props

For a short film last month, I needed a character to smash a plate of spaghetti in anger. I figured using real pasta would look best, so I cooked up a huge batch and dressed the set. The first take looked great, but by the third take, maybe 20 minutes later, the noodles were cold, stuck together, and looked totally fake on camera. We wasted half a day trying to make it work. Then my sound guy, Mike, said he saw a prop master use a mix of rubber bands and yarn soaked in sauce for a similar scene. We tried it, and it held up perfectly for a dozen takes over 4 hours, and you couldn't tell the difference on screen. It completely changed how I plan messy food scenes now. Has anyone else found a fake food recipe that saved a shoot?

I was reading a book about 80s movies and found out they used real animal bones for the skeletons in 'The Dark Crystal'

The book 'The Henson Archives' said they had a real osteologist on set to make sure the puppet skeletons were accurate. That means a bunch of those creepy props were actual animal bones cleaned and painted. Does that cross a line for prop realism, or is it just part of the craft?
