Stuff that gets picked because it looks nice in a catalog almost never survives contact with real weather. Same thing happens with garden tools, kids' shoes, and pretty much anything sold on looks alone.

That melted collar thing got me too and I wasted a whole Sunday night on it. My best luck came from adding words like "phone photo", "flash", and "grainy" to the prompt, then dropping the result into an app to add noise and lower the sharpness afterward. The AI look comes from everything being too clean, so you kind of have to mess the picture up on purpose to make it feel real.

Been there man. Started pulling a 10 minute capture on every trouble ticket now (even the ones that look obvious) and it's saved me from buying stuff we didn't need at least three times. Cheap Wireshark box on a span port beats guessing every time.
