I finally found a cheap substitute for expensive kiln wash.

Ever worry about the fumes from hardware store stuff? I totally did. I was a real snob about only using the proper branded kiln wash for years. Then I saw a friend use the aluminum hydrate trick on a whole batch of platters, and they came out perfectly clean, no sticking at all. It made me rethink being so strict about materials.
