Vent: I used a free keyword tool for a month versus paying for one, and the paid one found way more long-tail ideas.
The free version gave me maybe 10 decent phrases, but the paid tool pulled over 50 specific questions people were actually searching for. Anyone have a good budget-friendly alternative to the big expensive ones?

My experience with free tools like Ubersuggest was actually pretty solid for basic stuff. I got maybe 20 good long tail phrases from just checking related searches at the bottom of Google. The paid tools are better for volume, but you can find a lot by hand if you know where to look. Sometimes I think people jump to paying before really digging into what's already free.

Hey @wendy674, didn't I see a blog post about this exact thing? They said a lot of pros still start with the free related searches too. Makes sense to check there first before paying for anything.

Honestly, that sounds like a huge waste of time. Manually digging through related searches to maybe find 20 phrases is a terrible return on hours of your life. Paying for a tool that gives you 50 solid leads in minutes isn't an expense, it's buying your freedom to do actual work. The free route just seems like stubbornness disguised as being smart with money.
