Shoutout to the guy who left a perfectly good drafting table on the curb in my neighborhood

I found this big, heavy oak drafting table last week and it took me and a friend almost 3 hours just to get it up the stairs to my apartment. The main problem was the tilt mechanism was completely stuck, so we couldn't fold it down to make it easier to carry. We finally got it working after spraying the whole hinge with WD-40 and letting it sit for a while. Has anyone else had a great find that turned into a real workout?

Three hours?! I would've given up after the first flight of stairs, that's insane.

Honestly that sounds like a huge pain for a used table, maybe not worth the effort.

Dude honestly I feel like half the thrill of curb finds is the struggle lol. That oak table sounds like a beast but now you've got something solid that'll last forever. I found an old cast iron sewing machine base once and it took me and my neighbor like an hour just to get it out of the ditch. We had to wrap it in towels so we didn't scratch the paint on the stairs. Worth it though because now it's the coolest plant stand in my living room. People dont get that the real workout builds character lmao.
