I noticed the Bogleheads forum got a lot more active after the market dip in March

Daily posts jumped from about 300 to over 700 for a solid two weeks. Has another forum you follow seen a big spike like that?

That March dip was barely a blip on the radar, a quick 5% drop that got fixed in like a week. People treat every little market wiggle like it's 2008 again and flood the forums. I saw the same panic on a crypto sub I check, with post volume tripling over basically nothing. It feels more like people are just bored and looking for something to talk about (or panic about) rather than reacting to a real crisis.

Triple the post volume over a 5% dip? That's just people refreshing their apps all day looking for drama... It proves the point about boredom driving the panic more than the actual money. Makes you wonder what a real drop would look like on those forums.

Yeah, river182 is right about the boredom factor. I read a whole article about how forum traffic spikes are now a better measure of collective anxiety than actual market moves.
