Went to a conference in Austin and the wifi was a total joke

I was at SXSW last week and the exhibitor hall wifi kept dropping every 10 minutes. For a place that's supposed to be all about digital innovation, you'd think they'd invest in some decent bandwidth. I saw at least 3 vendors just give up on their live demos because of it. Has anyone else hit this problem at big industry events or is it just me?

The "bare minimum" comment is exactly right. I went to a developer conference last year where the wifi kept dropping during keynotes, it was a total mess. What actually worked for me was downloading all the session materials the night before and using my phone as a hotspot for quick lookups. Pro tip: bring a portable battery pack because your phone will drain FAST if you're doing that all day.
