Remember when we used to eyeball the wind? My new anemometer changed the game.
I dropped about $250 on a handheld digital anemometer a couple seasons back after a gust nearly tipped my load. Now I check the exact wind speed before every critical lift, not just glance at a flag. It gives me a real number on the display, so I can make the safe call instead of guessing. Anyone else using one, or do you still trust the old methods?

Ever see a guy lose a whole stack of plywood off his flatbed? My buddy did that last year, said the wind felt fine until he got on the highway. Sheet just caught like a sail and peeled right off. He bought one of those meters the next day, swears by the thing now. Says the difference between a guess and knowing the number is what keeps his load on the truck.

It's wild how much wind speed can change once you're moving. My uncle used to just eyeball it until a tarp ripped clean off his load. Now he checks an app before he even starts tying things down.
