Skipping breakfast changed my view on food marketing conspiracies
Moving my first meal to lunchtime simplified my day and sparked a deep dive into how breakfast became a thing (honestly, it feels like a plot to sell more cereal).

Look at old Kellogg's ads pushing cereal as a morning must-do for energy and morals. They literally sold corn flakes to stop people from masturbating. Then you had bacon and egg councils funding studies to call breakfast the most important meal. It's less a secret plot and more a century of companies funding science and ads to make their products seem essential. The real trick was making skipping a meal feel like a moral failure.

That "moral failure" line hits hard. It's crazy how today's wellness trends use the same shame tactics to sell superfoods or meal plans, lol.

Those old Kellogg's ads, right @the_jessica? Still mess with us.
