Tried using a cheap USB hub versus a powered Anker one for a repair bench setup

I had a cheap $10 hub from a local shop that kept dropping connections when I plugged in a hard drive dock and a USB flash tool at the same time. Switched to a powered Anker 7-port hub and it runs everything stable, no more random disconnects during imaging. Anyone else have a go-to hub brand they trust for daily bench work?

Always pay for the powered hub.

My cheap hub fried a brand new SSD last year, just a week after I bought it. The data recovery bill was more than three times what a good hub would have cost. I learned that lesson the hard way.

My old hub once corrupted a whole drive, so I don't mess around with those anymore.
