Dropped $400 on a graphing calculator I never used
First week of freshman year my advisor told me I absolutely needed a TI-84 for calculus. Bought it that day full price. Turns out my professor lets us use free phone apps for everything. That calculator is just sitting in my drawer collecting dust. Anyone else get pressured into buying expensive tech they didn't actually need?

Used to think people were crazy for dropping big money on stuff like that. Always told myself I'd get my money's worth out of a good calculator. Then I bought a fancy graphing calculator for a statistics class and never even took it out of the box. My professor literally showed us how to do everything on a free website first day. Felt like a total sucker walking around with that thing in my bag for a whole semester. Made me realize most of that "you need this" pressure is just marketing and old habits. What did you end up doing with yours?

Man I felt this one in my soul. I bought a TI-84 for like $120 and it sat in my backpack for two years until I finally sold it on Facebook for $40 just to feel something. The worst part is I spent the first week of that stats class trying to figure out how to turn the thing on while the professor was like "just use this free Desmos link." I swear college is just a series of lessons in how to waste money on stuff you don't actually need. Did you ever even pull yours out for a single assignment or did it just become a paperweight like mine?

Last time I checked my old TI-84 was sitting in a drawer at my parents house. Probably still has the original batteries in it from 2015.
