Vent: My French press cracked after 2 years of daily use
I was making my morning coffee last Tuesday and went to press down the plunger when I heard this loud crack. The glass carafe just split right down the middle. Coffee went everywhere on my counter and dripped onto the floor. I stood there for a minute just staring at the mess. I ended up using paper towels to clean it all up and had to skip coffee that morning which was rough. Now I'm looking for a replacement but I'm wondering if I should try a stainless steel one instead. Has anyone else had a glass carafe break on them out of nowhere?

Waited almost a year before my glass one did the exact same thing. Stainless steel is the way to go honestly. Much more durable and you don't have to worry about cracking or shattering. I switched to a double walled stainless model and my coffee stays hot way longer too. But you do have to preheat the metal or it pulls heat from the water. Just a heads up.

Yeah @susan_wells I had the same thing happen with my glass one after about 8 months. Switched to a stainless and it's been solid ever since, no regrets.
