My drip machine's 'strong' button just makes it bitter, but adding an extra scoop of grounds to the regular brew gave me a richer cup without the bite.
I tested this side-by-side for a week with the same Colombian beans, and the extra scoop method consistently produced a fuller flavor that my wife described as 'like the diner coffee we had in Seattle', so has anyone else found a better hack for getting more strength from a basic machine?

Try a pinch of salt, cuts the bitter taste.

Oh for real, that salt trick is a lifesaver. I do it with my morning coffee every single day, just a tiny sprinkle in the grounds before brewing. Makes cheap coffee taste way smoother, like it takes the edge right off. Totally works with bitter dark chocolate too.
