My old gas mower finally gave out in the middle of my yard last weekend
It was a 15 year old Craftsman that just wouldn't start again, no matter what I tried. Instead of buying another one, I went to the local hardware store and got a basic push reel mower for about $100. It's quieter, doesn't smell, and honestly the workout is kind of nice... Has anyone else made a switch like this and found it easier than they thought?

Honestly, that sounds like a huge step backwards. A reel mower just can't handle a real lawn with any kind of thick grass or weeds. You'll spend more time going over the same spot than actually mowing, and good luck if you miss a week.
