I used to drive my gas guzzler 5 miles to buy a single avocado at the grocery store downtown

Now I walk to the same store twice a week since I sold my car in 2021 and honestly I save about $40 a month on gas alone, but does anyone else find it harder to buy in bulk without a trunk?

You said "harder to buy in bulk without a trunk" and I gotta be honest, I see it the opposite way. Walking forces me to actually think about what I need instead of just throwing a bunch of stuff in the car out of habit. I carry a couple of those big reusable bags and I can fit way more than you'd think, especially if I plan my meals ahead of time. Plus I've noticed I waste less food now because I'm not buying big packages of stuff that end up going bad in the back of my fridge... just a different way of looking at it I guess.

I hear you on the planning part, but it's not the same. When I could toss a 24-pack of toilet paper in my trunk without thinking, that was a different level of convenience. Now I have to make multiple trips or pay for delivery for stuff like that. Walking is great for fresh food in small amounts, but it doesn't replace the utility of a trunk for the heavy, bulky items that keep my pantry stocked for two weeks.
