Tried peel and stick tile vs real subway tile for my kitchen backsplash in Nashville
I did a small section of peel and stick in my rental last month to save money and it looked great for about 2 weeks. Then the humidity from cooking made the corners curl up. Real subway tile cost me $60 more and took a weekend but it's been solid for 3 months now. Anyone else waste cash on the temporary stuff first?

Learned that lesson with cheap drawer pulls that tarnished in two months. There's always a reason the real stuff costs more and it usually shows up right after the return window closes.

Exactly why I test hardware by installing it in a spot nobody sees first. Learned that lesson with bathroom cabinet handles that lost their finish in a few months. Saved me from redoing the whole kitchen when I caught the bad stuff early.

Oh man, that's the story of my life with most "bargain" fixes. It's like the universe has this rule that anything cheap will fail right after you can't return it anymore.
