Swapped out my old cabinet knobs for $18 and the kitchen looks totally different
Last weekend I pulled all the dated brass knobs off my kitchen cabinets and replaced them with simple matte black ones from the hardware store, cost me less than 20 bucks total. It took maybe 45 minutes with a screwdriver and now the whole room feels cleaner and more modern without any major work. Has anyone else tried cheap hardware swaps that made a bigger difference than you expected

My husband laughed at me when I spent $12 on new drawer pulls for our bathroom vanity, but then he walked in and literally said "wait, did you paint the whole thing?" lol. I chose brushed nickel ones that were slightly longer than the old brass ones and it somehow made the whole cabinet look like it cost triple what it did. The best part is I'm so un-handy that I actually stripped one of the screws and had to use pliers to get it out, so my 20 minute project turned into an hour of me sweating and cursing on the bathroom floor. But honestly even with that disaster it was still worth it. Now I'm eyeing the kitchen knobs too because this whole cheap hardware makeover thing is kind of addictive.

Same thing happened to me with brushed nickel, @tessa_roberts1.
