Why does nobody talk about how much oil you waste deep frying?
After dropping $12 on canola oil last week and realizing half of it went into the jar for storage, I asked a buddy who runs a food truck and he said just reuse it 3 or 4 times straining through a coffee filter - has anyone else been tossing perfectly good oil this whole time?

lol I never strained mine I just kept adding fresh oil on top til it started smoking weird. My roommate called it "the cursed fry bucket" and threw it out while I was at work. RIP.

Oh man, the cursed fry bucket... that reminds me of my buddy Dave's "eternal chili pot" he had in college. He just kept adding beans and meat to it for like six months, never washed it. One day it grew this green fuzzy lid on top and the RA made him throw it away during a room inspection. I still wonder what was living in there...
