My grocery bill in Phoenix went from $120 to $80 after one bad week.
I was at the store last month, grabbing my usual stuff like chicken and pre-cut veggies. My total hit $120 and I felt sick. The next week, I bought a whole chicken for $7, a big bag of rice, and some frozen vegetables. I roasted the chicken, used the bones for soup, and stretched it for five meals. How do you make one cheap ingredient last all week?

Sounds like a lot of work for one chicken.

Honestly that's how everything feels these days. Making a sandwich turns into a whole project with ten ingredients from different stores. Seems like we're adding steps to simple things just to feel like we're doing it right. Ends up taking the joy out of the basic stuff.

Read something the other day about how people are spending 45 minutes just chopping and prepping veggies for one meal. It's crazy. A whole chicken shouldn't feel like a victory lap.
