Vent: That board game cafe downtown has zero clue about noise levels
I finally checked out Dice & Dragons cafe last Friday night... wanted to try a quiet round of Wingspan with my cousin. But the place was so loud I could barely hear her call out a bird card. They had some house music blasting over the speakers and a group of 10 people screaming over a party game in the corner. I get that it's a social spot, but there's no designated quiet zone or even a sign asking folks to keep it down. The owner just shrugged and said "it's always like this on weekends" when I asked. For a place that claims to cater to board game fans, you'd think they'd understand some games need focus. Has anyone else dealt with a game spot that totally ignores basic acoustics?

My friend literally walked out after five minutes last month.

Four weeks back my cousin did the same thing at that new place on 5th street. Honestly, it was just a bad night for her, she'd already had a rough week at work and the line was too long. Ngl, people act like walking out after five minutes is some huge statement, but sometimes you just don't have the patience for a crowded spot. I get that your friend did it, but half the time it's just someone being dramatic over a wait time or a menu item they didn't like. Not every little thing has to be a whole big deal.
