Put $50 into Instagram ads and got exactly 3 likes

I thought I'd try boosting a post that was doing okay organically. Paid $50 to run it for a week targeting people interested in my niche. Ended up with 3 likes and 2 of those were from bot accounts. Has anyone else had better luck with a smaller daily budget or different targeting setup?

Spend $50 on 3 likes that's basically 16 bucks per like lmao. Instagram's ad system is such a scam they literally just take your money and smile at you. I bet those bot accounts had names like "sarah_wanderlust_2024" with 0 posts too. Honestly you'd get better results crumpling up that $50 and throwing it at random people in a coffee shop.

@sage_lewis10 you hit the nail on the head. That's basically what happened to me too. Instagram ads are a straight up money grab for most small accounts. The targeting is garbage unless you have a massive following or a really tight audience. You're better off just posting good content and engaging with people organically. I wasted $50 and got nothing but a reminder that the platform doesn't care about us.
