Update: First time tackling a full comms system reboot on my own

I just handled a complete communications system reboot after a power surge during a routine check. Everything came back online smooth, which was a huge relief. I had to cycle through all the radios and satcom units one by one. The weird part was the GPS data link took way longer to sync up than the manual said it should. It made me second-guess if I missed a step in the initialization sequence. I'm curious if temperature in the avionics bay affects sync times like that. My lead wasn't around to ask, so I just let it run. What's your go-to method for double-checking sync issues after a reboot?

Hugo_ellis might be onto something with that temp check.

Hey, did you check the ambient temperature in the bay?

So you're all worried about the ambient temperature? I mean, checking that seems like a waste of time to me. Those numbers often don't mean much in the real world, and they can distract from actual problems. Most bays have pretty stable air anyway, so why bother with extra steps. Idk, maybe it's just me, but I've never seen it make a real difference. We could be doing something better with our effort.
