Saw a really clean wire run on a Cessna 172 at the local airshow

I was at the Sun 'n Fun show in Lakeland last week and stopped by the static display area. One of the older 172s had its avionics bay open, and the wire bundle going to the new Garmin G5 was perfect. Every zip tie was cut flush and the service loops were all the same size. It's the small things that show someone really cared. Anyone else spot a job that just made you nod in respect?

My buddy's Mooney had wiring like that... museum quality.

My old shop foreman used to say a clean panel is a happy panel. We always kept a pair of flush-cut dykes in the top drawer just for that final trim. It adds maybe ten minutes to the job but makes troubleshooting down the line so much easier.

I get what taylor_grant30 is saying, but that extra ten minutes adds up on every job. Most panels get closed up and never opened again for years. Spending time making the wires look perfect inside a locked box is just polishing something no one will ever see. As long as the connections are solid and labeled, the trim is a nice-to-have, not a need-to-have.
