My take on aluminum panel fixes after a botched job last month

Used low heat to avoid warping, but some say it's not needed. What do you think?

Actually, I've found low heat can make warping worse. It heats a bigger area slowly, which lets the panel bend. A short, hot focus on just the dent works better for me. Lets you fix the spot without cooking the whole sheet.

Yeah but that quick hot method risks shocking the metal and can actually set the dent worse! I've had way better luck warming the whole area slowly with a heat gun on medium. It lets the panel expand evenly so you can push the dent out smoothly. If you just blast one spot, the metal around it stays cold and fights you, plus you're way more likely to burn the paint. Slow and even gives the metal time to relax without causing a bigger mess.

Wait, that's interesting. Honestly I always heard the opposite about low heat being safer. So when you do the short hot method, are you using a heat gun on high or like a small torch? Tbh I'd be scared to burn the paint right off. How do you keep from messing up the finish around the dent? Ngl, I wonder if this only works on thicker metal.
