Seeing a lot of folks skip the amp draw check on fridge compressors
I went to three different houses this month where the owners had already bought new start relays because their fridge was warm. Each time, the compressor was pulling 12 amps on a 6 amp rated unit, meaning it was locked up. They wasted about $30 each on parts that could not fix the real problem. How do you explain to a customer that a simple meter check saves them money and time?

Three houses in one month. Each person bought that start relay for nothing. They all had the same 12 amp draw on a 6 amp unit. That's double what it should be. How do you not check that first before buying parts. A basic meter is like twenty bucks. It just seems like such an obvious step to skip.
