Last Tuesday was my worst day in 8 years of repairs
I had three calls in a row that all went sideways. First was a Samsung fridge at a house in Oak Park where the compressor was bad but the customer refused to believe me because her brother said it was just the start relay. I spent 45 minutes showing her voltage readings on my meter. Then I drove 20 miles to fix a Whirlpool dryer that the homeowner had already taken apart and lost three screws from the blower housing. Finally I got to a Bosch dishwasher that had a clogged drain pump but the water had been sitting for so long it smelled like rotten eggs. I ended up working until 8pm and only made $180 for the whole day after gas and parts cost. Has anyone else had a day like that where nothing goes right no matter how careful you are?

I mean, I get it was a rough day but $180 is still $180. I've had days where I made less than that and didn't have to deal with any water damage or missing screws, so maybe it's not the end of the world. Also the whole thing with the Samsung fridge and the brother thing, that happens all the time. People trust their family over a pro, it's annoying but it's not some huge disaster. The rotten egg smell is gross for sure but you probably washed your hands and moved on, right? I don't know, sounds like a frustrating day but I feel like calling it the worst in 8 years is a little dramatic.
