Customer told me my panel placement made their motion sensor blind in the hallway
Had a homeowner in Phoenix point out that putting the keypad right next to the living room window created a dead zone for the motion detector covering the east wing, so now I map out sensor arcs before mounting anything, anyone else run into this with open floor plans?

@johnson.lee that mirror story hits close to home. Did the same thing last year except I was the one who mounted a keypad facing a sliding glass door at sunset, basically blinded my own system for two hours every evening. Customer called me a professional at creating blind spots and honestly they weren't wrong.

Lol I had a customer last month swear their bedroom motion sensor kept false alarming because of a ceiling fan, turns out a decorative mirror was reflecting the IR beam and confusing the whole system. Spent an hour hunting that one down before I realized the problem was basically a disco ball situation. Now I check for glass, mirrors, and shiny metal anywhere near the coverage area.
