After talking to job seekers, I'm warning about AI hiring bias

I work with a lot of people looking for jobs through my moving business, and I keep hearing how AI screening tools are messing up! These systems use old data that can be biased, so they might pass on perfect fits. One person said their resume was rejected because it didn't have the right keywords, even though they could do the work. We have to be super careful with this new tech!

You say these systems use old data... but that's the whole point. They learn from years of what actually worked in a role. A human hiring manager has way more personal bias from a quick glance. At least the AI is just looking for patterns of past success.

My friend got passed over for a promotion last year. The system flagged him because his degree was from a community college, not a four year school. The guy who got it had the "right" degree but way less real skill. That pattern of past success just locked out good people. It saw a degree, not what he could actually do.

Past success patterns just bake old biases into new code.
