inPSA: The push for electric is killing good diesel jobs in my town.
My town got a few locals to chip in and help a struggling auto shop update their space. They're still running now because the community basically became their marketing team.

inJust realized my cable organization mistake almost ended a key meeting
Remember when I tried to tidy my own cable nest and ended up yanking the power strip for my external hard drive. It was during a big file transfer, and the thing just died, lost everything. That was a way more expensive lesson than a dropped call, trust me. So now I'm paranoid about touching any wires unless everything is fully shut down, no exceptions. It's not about testing every single time, it's about learning what kind of mess actually costs you.

inTbh, my pantry raid actually made a decent dinner
Understand where @andrewkelly is coming from, but when my budget's shot, any little thing helps. I've totally been in that "half cup of rice" place too. My move is buying the cheapest ramen and stealing ketchup packets from the gas station to make a sort of sweet and sour sauce. Or if I have one egg, I'll stretch it by scrambling it into instant mashed potatoes. It's all about getting clever with the absolute basics you can still scrape together.

inDebate over a book club pick that backfired badly
Last year's draft must have been a real mess, @lisa839. I guess that's why the vetting process now takes twice as long.
