I finally finished my backyard patio after a summer of weekends... now I'm torn on sharing it online.

Spent every Saturday and Sunday laying stones and dealing with rain delays that stretched the project out. On one side, posting pictures could get useful tips and let me show off the hard work. On the other, I kinda like having a private spot just for me without any comments or critiques. Where do you all fall on sharing personal projects like this... good idea or better to keep it to yourself?

Seriously? It's a patio, not a peace treaty. Post it if you want, but you'll just get people pointing out one stone is half an inch out of line or arguing about grout color. The tips are rarely worth the noise from know-it-alls who've never lifted a paver. Sometimes a quiet beer out there beats a hundred hollow "nice job" comments online.

Used to post every DIY thing I finished, from bookshelves to garden beds, craving those atta-boy comments. Then I shared a deck project and got grilled about joist spacing by some guy who clearly just googled building codes lol. Reading what jordan653 said really clicked for me, that quiet beer without imagining some internet stranger's critique is way better. Now I keep the good stuff for me and close friends, way more relaxing.
