My cousin's first clean fade on his dad made our family barbecue special
Last month, my cousin asked me to show him how to cut hair. He was always nervous with clippers. We practiced on mannequins during weekends. Yesterday, at our family barbecue, he gave his dad a full fade. It was not perfect, but the lines looked clean and everyone cheered. I felt so proud seeing him beam with confidence. It reminded me why I love passing on this skill. Have you ever taught a family member to cut hair?

My brother still has the crooked line I gave him ten years ago.

Remember a line that isn't straight will throw the whole balance off over time. Kind of like a bent frame on a car, it just stresses everything else connected to it. He probably kept it out of sentiment, but that doesn't mean it was ever a good idea. Might be worth suggesting he gets a proper, straight one now.

My dad's old toolbox has a ruler from the 80s that's warped all to hell. I mean, it's kinda sweet her brother kept it, but ben_foster3 is right about how something crooked messes other things up. After ten years, that line has to be putting weird stress on whatever it's hooked to. Maybe it's just me, but keeping a broken thing for memories doesn't mean you should still use it. He could get a straight one now and just leave the old one on a shelf.
