That creek behind my old school is all over Instagram now
Used to skip stones there after class. No one else around. Now it's tagged in so many posts. Peace is gone. But nice others enjoy it too.

Got there at 5:30 last Saturday and it was just like you remember. What @the_seth said about the quiet times moving is dead on. The crowd shows up around nine, so you get a good three hours if you're early. Places don't really lose their peace, they just split the day into shifts. You just have to find your new shift, even if it means setting an alarm. Isn't it funny how we have to relearn how to visit our own old spots?

Remember thinking the peace was gone when my favorite trail got popular. Tried going at dawn last month and had the whole place to myself again. The creek's still the same water, same stones... the quiet times just moved earlier. Sometimes the secret isn't the place but when you show up.

Yeah but "quiet times moving" isn't really the same peace, is it? If you have to set an alarm and race the clock, that feels like you lost the easy magic it used to have.
