Had to choose between two identical streets in my hometown
I was driving home from work last week and took a left turn onto Maple Street, which I've done a thousand times. But when I looked up, the street sign said Oak Street, even though all the houses were exactly the same as Maple. I pulled over and checked my GPS, and it showed I was on Maple. I drove back to the corner, and the sign had switched back. Has anyone else had a street or a sign just change on them like that?

Sounds like the town planners got bored and decided to mess with you. I once stared at a yield sign for a full minute because I swore it winked at me. Turns out I just needed more sleep, but your story is way weirder. Maybe the sign guy was having a real off day and mixed up his Maple and Oak labels.

Weird. That's not just a wrong sign, that's a full glitch. I had something similar happen with a stop sign that would sometimes show a yield symbol for a split second. Makes you wonder if there's some kind of electrical short or programming bug in the newer LED signs. They're basically just computers on a pole. If the city's maintenance is bad, the wrong message could load up. Your GPS was probably right and the sign was just broken.
