Tried two different sealants on a big storefront job in Toledo
We had to replace about 40 panes of tempered glass last fall. Used a standard silicone first, but it kept pulling away in the corners after a week. Switched to a specific structural glazing tape instead. The tape laid flat, sealed instantly, and saved us a full day of rework. Anyone else run into this with silicone on large commercial units?

Oh man, Silicone is the WORST for big panes like that. The thermal movement on a storefront will just peel it right back. That tape is the only way to go for anything over maybe three feet. We learned that the hard way on a bank job last year.

Tbh that "learned the hard way" part hits home. We had a whole strip mall facade fail from the same thing. That thermal movement is no joke.
