Finally got a clean seal on a 4-inch bubble after three days of trying

Honestly, I was trying to make a simple bubble for a vase base and the seal kept getting a tiny crease every single time. I must have reheated and reworked the same piece like twenty times over the weekend. Has anyone else had this happen with bigger gathers, and what's your trick for keeping the seal smooth?

Yeah, that tiny crease is the worst. When you're working with that much glass, are you letting the gather cool down a bit more before you make the seal? I find if I rush it, the heat from the center just warps everything.
