Upstairs noise was wrecking my sleep, fixed it with a free app

My neighbor above me has loud footsteps and TV noise late into the night. I started using a white noise app on an old phone placed near my bed. It covers up the sounds so I can actually rest now. What cheap solutions have you found for apartment noise?

You say the noise was wrecking your sleep, but is it really that big of a deal? Footsteps and TV sounds are just part of living in an apartment building. Using a white noise app seems like a fix, but maybe you need to adjust your expectations. I've dealt with worse and learned to ignore it after a few nights. It's probably not as bad as you make it sound.

Oh man, I wish my brain had that ignore button, mine just replays every creak on a loop!
