I finally realized why people keep stripping the bolts on their old vise. It's not the tool, it's the lube.

Remember the time I tried to free a stuck bench grinder with just a cheater bar and pure stubbornness? I was so sure I could muscle it. Ended up shearing the bolt clean off. The lesson was expensive. Now I keep a can of Kroil on the shelf and remind myself that waiting a day is cheaper than drilling out broken hardware.

So you're saying the real issue is people just cranking on dry threads? Like they grab the impact wrench for a vise that's been outside for twenty years and just send it, instead of hitting it with some PB Blaster and letting it sit for a day?

My old vise was seized solid from rust. I sprayed it with PB Blaster three times over two days. Still wouldn't budge. Ended up using a mix of acetone and old transmission fluid. Let that soak overnight. Came back with a breaker bar and it finally turned. Patience is everything with frozen metal.
