The 20 year old floor jack in my Tacoma finally gave out this morning.
The main seal blew while I was lifting the front end to check a brake line, dumping fluid all over the concrete. I'm looking at a new 3-ton low profile model, but part of me wants to rebuild the old one. What's the most reliable brand you've bought in the last five years?

Ugh, I feel that. My old jack gave up last year and I tried to rebuild it, which was a huge mistake lol. I ended up with more parts left over than when I started. Just get the new one.

Oh man, I'm with Blair on this one. I tried to rebuild an old jack and it was never the same, always leaked a little after. Just bite the bullet and get a new one.

Did you check if it was even meant to be rebuilt? Some of those cheap ones are sealed shut and just not worth the trouble.
