Warning: My HVLP gun clogged solid on a big lacquer job yesterday afternoon.

I had to strip it down, soak the nozzle in acetone for 20 minutes, and still lost an hour of daylight finishing a client's eight dining chairs.

Bet the humidity wrecked your lacquer's dry time.

Ugh, humidity is the worst for that! Last summer I sprayed a clear coat and it turned into a sticky mess that never fully cured. The air felt like soup and my gun kept spitting. Had to sand the whole table back to bare wood in that awful muggy heat, total nightmare.
