Opened my fridge to find a half jar of pickles next to a block of frozen cream cheese

So last night I went to grab a snack and saw my roommate had shoved a half-eaten jar of dill pickles right next to a frozen brick of cream cheese. There was also a bag of stale tortilla chips and a single sad carrot in the crisper. I'm trying to figure out what weird dish they were attempting. Any guesses on what kind of appetizer or dip they were going for? Has anyone else found a combo that looks this random in their own fridge?

Found a similar combo in my fridge last month. Ended up mashing the cream cheese with some chopped pickles and garlic powder for a quick spread on crackers. It actually worked surprisingly well as a weird but tasty snack.

I mean this reminds me of my friend Jenna who once found a half-eaten jar of olives next to a tub of sour cream in her fridge and she thought her roommate was trying to make some kind of dip. Turns out the roommate had been making a weird pizza with olives and sour cream as the base and then she just shoved everything back in the fridge without cleaning up. Jenna said the pizza was actually pretty good but the mess drove her crazy. I still tease her about the olive and sour cream combo whenever we hang out.
