My brother said to always buy the small jar of tahini... now I have a half gallon of it and a bag of lemons mocking me.

My aunt bought a giant tub of miso paste last year and it's still in her fridge. I've started noticing this with spices and condiments, where the bulk deal feels smart until you're stuck with way more than one person can use. What's the weirdest bulk food item you've ended up with?

Had a friend who bought a whole case of those giant economy sized mayonnaise jars from a restaurant supply store because it was "such a good deal." She lives alone. Her fridge was basically a mayo museum for two years. She ended up giving jars to everyone she knew as weird housewarming gifts. The saddest part was when she finally threw the last one out and it had turned this weird yellowish color. Never let the savings on paper fool you like that.

That giant tub of miso paste is the perfect example. I see this all the time where the promise of saving money makes us ignore how we actually live. We end up with a fridge full of giant jars that just become a weird, expensive science project. It feels like a small failure every time you open the cupboard and see it sitting there.
