That time we had to pour a 500-pound bronze eagle in 90-degree heat last August

The humidity made the sand so sticky we had to re-mull the whole batch twice, but the venting trick my old foreman taught me saved the piece from blowing out, so has anyone else had a crazy weather day mess with your mold prep?

Oh man, that's brutal. Weather just throws a wrench in everything, doesn't it? I can't even imagine dealing with a core shift that bad.

My buddy had a commission for a big outdoor plaque. Poured it in his garage during a freak cold snap. The core shift was a nightmare. Metal cooled way too fast. Whole thing warped like a potato chip. He had to scrap two hundred pounds of iron.
