My neighbor's trash pile taught me to check the inside first
I used to just grab anything that looked decent from the curb without a closer look. Last Tuesday in Phoenix, I almost took a wooden dresser until I opened a drawer and found a huge mouse nest. That was my wake-up call. Now I spend an extra minute checking inside cabinets, under lids, and in all compartments before I even touch something. It's saved me from bringing bugs or worse into my garage at least twice this month. Anyone else have a gross find that made them change their routine?
Three scorpions came out of a lamp I found in an alley near 4th Ave, @taylor929, and I swear I still get jumpy turning lights on. Totally not worth the free decor.
