My uncle always said to never use a jigsaw on engineered hardwood, but I tried it on a tricky cut last week.

He was totally right, it chipped the edge so bad I had to redo the whole plank. Anyone have a better tool for tight corner cuts on that stuff?

But a dull blade or wrong type can ruin any tool, so why blame the jigsaw itself?

Wait, are we using the same kind of jigsaw? Mine has a fine tooth blade for laminate and I go slow with painter's tape on the cut line. I've done a bunch of tricky cuts on my engineered floors without any chips. Maybe the blade was dull or the wrong type, not the tool itself. A sharp blade meant for fine cuts makes all the difference. I'd try that before giving up on a jigsaw for good.

Ha! So the jigsaw isn't the criminal, we just need to blame the blade then, right @rose_hart31?
