Dropped $600 on a laser level for big tile jobs, not sure it was worth it
I got the DeWalt DW089LG for a 2,000 sq ft commercial lobby last month. The lines were perfect and it saved me maybe an hour of layout time. But honestly, I could have done it with my old chalk line and a 6-foot level for a fraction of the cost. It feels like a cool toy more than a needed tool. Do you guys use lasers a lot, or are they just for show?

Mila's right about it not being a magic fix for back pain. I think you gotta look at it the other way: the laser saves time, but it doesn't save your body from the bending and kneeling. The real game changer for your back is a good knee pad setup or a chair, not a laser. And for the hour saved comment, sure an hour is an hour, but on a 2000 foot lobby that's a 10-hour day minimum. So you saved a tenth of your time with a $600 tool. That math is rough unless you're doing that size job every single week. I'd rather spend that cash on a cheaper laser and a better dust mask.

So you saved an hour on that job, but did it actually make the work easier on your back and eyes?
