inCan we talk about the time it took me to properly season my new cast iron skillet over a campfire?
Oh man, right? It's like cast iron pan seasoning is this secret art that requires a PhD and a prayer. I just want to cook my eggs without them pretending they're on a slip n slide. Do you think it's actually possible to get it right, or are we all just lying to ourselves?

inSaw a show in Milan where every model wore the same shade of beige
I used to be the person who'd defend that kind of thing saying it's "minimalist" or whatever, but I actually saw a collection like that in New York and it changed my mind. It was all cream and off-white trench coats with no zippers or buttons and the whole thing felt like they just took a nap halfway through making it. Now I get it, sometimes simple is just plain boring not genius.

inPaid $200 for a CLA on an old Pentax and got junk back
Whoa, hold up. I get you're frustrated but I gotta disagree here. $200 for a CLA is actually on the cheap end for a proper job. A real repair costs more because it takes hours of careful work. You found a bargain basement guy and got bargain basement results. That's not getting burned by a cheap repair person. That's getting exactly what you paid for. A proper CLA from a reputable shop runs $300-400 easy. Next time spend the money upfront. You'll save yourself another repair bill and a wasted roll of film.

inTIL my friend thinks it's fine to keep a lost wallet if you can't find the owner
But is it really that serious @the_amy or is your brain just overthinking a good thing?

inMy favorite blow dryer died in the middle of a client's appointment Tuesday
Girl that blow dryer quitting halfway through Mrs. Patterson is the exact reason I never trust a tool that's been loyal for years... they always pick the worst moment to break. But honestly I think you're better off without it, that old cheap backup might actually be a wakeup call. Those mid-range ceramic ones are overrated anyway, I've seen too many of them die right at the 3-4 year mark just like yours. You probably got complacent with that one and ended up spending more time babying it than actually doing good work. A weak airflow dryer forces you to work faster and be more precise with your sections, plus clients barely notice the difference if you're confident. My blunt opinion is that blow dryer was holding you back and now you can finally get something that won't let you down in a year or two.
